Lighthouse of Hope MK is dedicated to providing critical support to children who have been adopted or placed in foster care, not just in North Macedonia, but also in other countries where fostering is a relatively new concept. Our organization offers a range of resources, including training and long-term support, to help families navigate the unique challenges that come with adopting or fostering a child.
Our founders are Cultivate Connection trainers, and have extensive experience in providing foster parenting courses and training families preparing for adoption. We offer families the tools and resources to face the challenges of adoption, as well as support, encouragement, and new skills.
Jennifer Naskov, our Executive Director, is a Trust Based Relational Intervention practitioner, Making Sense of Your Worth facilitator, and Gentle Teaching trainer, and provides parents and staff working with children from hard places the support they need to provide healthy environments for families, group homes, and caregivers. All therapists at The JOY Home receive continuing education classes in topics such as Sensory Processing, Attachment, Autism Support, etc. Many of these topics are also available to families seeking to nurture their special needs infant or child.
In addition to training, Lighthouse of Hope MK offers ongoing support to families by addressing questions related to foster care, pre-adoption preparation, and post-adoption struggles. Our team is comprised of experienced listeners and foster and adoptive parents who have a passion for orphan care and are able to provide insightful answers to questions that may otherwise go unanswered.
Our extensive library of books, CDs, and DVDs focuses on fostering, orphan care, and parenting children from hard places. We place a strong emphasis on cultural appreciation and awareness, and encourage our staff to understand and appreciate the culture in which they live and work. Our library also includes resources on interacting with people from different cultures and appreciating the richness of the world around us.
